Resume ROB

Rob was managing partner of advertising agency RJA, at the time the biggest independent Dutch agency which he sold to Saatchi & Saatchi. He started a new agency, Benjamens van Doorn & Partners, which had a kick start and rapidly grew into a serious market challenger. After 5 years the French network Havas bought all equity and BvD / Euro RSCG was a fact. Rob stayed on for more then 20 years and the agency operated in the top 5 of the Dutch market. The last 6 years of his tenure with Havas he was also responsible for the Northern Europe operation and member of the European board. Together with Fred Moolhuijsen he started in 2008 Brand & Business Architects.

Rob served in many  governing bodies. He was among others president of the Dutch Advertising Association, boardmember of the Dutch Marketing Association, board member of SIRE and the Advertising Museum. Next to that he was jurymember of numerous local and international Award shows. Rob has been nominated twice for Adman of the year and received the Coq d’Honneur for his contribution to the sector. Currently he is founder and president of the Distribution Panel, an informal platform of top-executives in the food retail sector. And finally he is member of the advisory board of Müller Fresh Food Logistics, a major logistics company. Until 2020 he was member of the advisory board of PLUS Supermarkets

On a  regular basis Rob shares his opinion on marketing and media matters at BNR Radio, Radio 1 and Adformatie.

Resume FRED

The relationship between brands and consumers at one hand, and companies and their employers on the other hand, has been the nucleus of his professional life for more than 30 years. After his graduation in Business Economics his career got traction in marketing and communications. Started at KLM (marketresearch) followed by Pepsico / Lays (marketing management) as a marketeer. His switch to the agency world ( DDB and Lintas) led to a focus on commerce and strategy. In the capacity of CEO / Chairman of Young & Rubicam and Havas he was a trusted business advisor for many iconic companies as KLM, KPN, Heineken, ING and De Bijenkorf.

Together with Rob Benjamens he started in 2008 Brand & Business Architects. This boutique consultancy advises at the the pinnacle of marketing -media – brands and markets. More recently, as a market-watcher, his focus is more on the fundamental digital shifts in the international agency landscape concerning  online media, data en creative craft. In this capacity he is a much asked for keynote speaker for local management drives en international C-level summits.

Next to his professional life Fred contributed to a series of societal issues commisioned by SIRE (firework injuries and social media behaviour of youngsters). For a few years he was  member of the advisory board of NFL Europe (American Football).

On a regular basis Fred shares his filtered and unfiltered opinion on the state of the marcom industry at BNR Radio, Adformatie and Marketing Tribune.
